The Indie music scene has flourished in recent years and people have been looking forward to much of the music industry for relief this year when the recession is biting hard and taking toll on majority of society. Music as it seems is unaffected by the recession and as testament to this, the music festival planned for the South by Southwest festival and conference scheduled this coming march, will prove testament to this. The music industry as a whole is reeling from loss of album sales on traditional music but with respect to electronic or internet based music purchases, it seems to be going fine. may it be free or for promotional reasons, the internet has allowed people access to some of their favorite songs the world over. For a few dollars, they can get hold of their favorite tunes and download them straight to their iPods and many other digital music players allowing them to take it anywhere.
The industry may be faltering and the economy too but it seems music is a simple way of letting the tunes take us away from the stresses of daily life. The music industry has suffered greatly due to the de-regulation of music and with many albums out on the net without proper content control measures, they are shared and enjoyed without bounds. The industry as a whole may be spiraling down but music will forever be part of our daily lives as we listen and let the tunes sweep us far from this troubled times.
