Being independent isn’t easy for unlike talents with big business fueling their music, just getting your music out and to get it out the most is challenge enough. The winners of the process would benefit from being promoted by eMusic this coming 2009 getting them the much needed exposure they desire. The aim is to get independent musicians linked with fans and industry people who can help them get their music out.
The music industry has had its ups and downs but this is all harder for all those talented indie artists for they have little cash and only their fans to rely on. We will bring these people out of the shadows and hopefully intot he spotlight for their moment of glory, even for a glance of the industry.

Because of this, they became one of the most identifiable models of the “blog band” trend. The indie band were popular for their works like The Futureheads, The Streets, Metric, Calvin Johnson and I Am the World Trade Center.

Not too familiar? Maybe because they are not your common indie band. Most indie bands would go for rock music, alternative, punk, etc. But the Paper Cranes are more of a seaside music-hall melancholy (think bouncing-ball piano lines, sock-hop clap-along beat and a scarcely there set chorus of “oooh ooohs”) particularly blissfully inapt to go along with a song that worships the power of love in the most intimidating, inconsolable terms. The Paper Cranes are composed of the following members: Ryan McCullagh (guitar and vocals), Miranda Roach-McCullagh (keyboards), Braeden Peterson (guitar), Mark Lavoie (bass) and Dale Peltier (percussion).

The group consist of Joseph Williams where the band name came from) who plays as the vocals, and utilizes melodica, synth and a laptop; Hayes Shanesy on vocals as well and guitars, Tyler on bass guitar and Andriu Strasser on the art. Their masterpieces that have been released are New Violence EP on Septemer 2007 and Smoke on November 2007. The art cover for Smoke was inspired from a girl from Cincinatti who was in tears over a relationship with a guy, who smoked marijuana water pipe because of their situation.

They sure had a lot of patience with their band for a sure success. This indie pop band was formed by Ray Proudfoot (vocals and guitar) and Keenan Dowers (Rhodes and electric organ and vocals) in Seattle, Washington. They both went to the same high school together so this made the bands foundation strong. Keenan played bass for their high school band which also gave way to the early beginnings of the band. Later on they have decided they needed more members and a name. Jordan Michelman came to the picture and became their drummer after hours of working on Ray’s songs in their garage.
